My name is Annette Hardy and I live in Bristol with my husband, a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon. We have four sons, but these days only the youngest, 17, lives with us permanently. Once he’s done his A-levels I expect he’ll go to university and we will finally be “emptynesters”.
I studied French and German at university and for about 15 years worked for Mercedes-Benz (UK) Ltd. We then moved to Bristol for my husband’s job and I decided to stay at home for a bit while everyone settled into their new school/job and we found a house to buy. That was 18 years ago and I’m still here.
I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. I cook there, obviously, but also my computer and a TV are there. You could say it’s my office. Since we refurbished the kitchen about ten years ago and installed an Aga, I’ve derived a lot of pleasure from preparing family meals. I’ve recently started to record recipes and how I’ve adapted them to Aga cooking and this is why I’m starting this blog.
I’m not promising only to write about cooking though. Watch this space.
