About

My name is Annette Hardy and I live in Bristol with my husband, a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon. We have four sons and a grandson.

I have a degree in French and German and for about 15 years worked for Mercedes-Benz (UK) Ltd. We then moved to Bristol for my husband’s job and I decided to stay at home for a bit while everyone settled into their new school/job and we found a house to buy. That was in 1997 and I’m still here.

I spend a lot of time in my kitchen. I cook there, obviously, but also my computer and a TV are there. You could say it’s my office. Since we refurbished the kitchen and installed an Aga, I’ve derived a lot of pleasure from preparing family meals. I’ve recently started to record recipes and how I’ve adapted them to Aga cooking, something I found a challenge to start with. I’m writing this blog to share my experience of learning to cook on an Aga. If you own one too I hope you will find it useful and if you don’t, the recipes usually include conventional cooking instructions.
